Position Location: Adolphus, KY; Scottsville, KY; Adrian, MI; West Manchester, OH; Mound City, SD or Kipling, Saskatchewan, Canada
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Production Team Lead position.
Implementing and holding others accountable for following the requirements and guidelines of the Company’s Safety Program
Require facility bio-security.
Abide by all company policies, procedures and guidelines and require others to do the same.
Change plans in accordance with farm needs.
Create team environment by effectively leading a team to accomplish daily department work requirements and farm goals.
Ensure animals are moved and efficient animal flows are maintained.
Ensure multiple areas on the farm are sanitized and washed using high pressure equipment.
Feed, water, vaccinate, and perform general animal husbandry tasks including basic veterinary procedures.
Process piglets, which includes: Injecting medications, castrating, docking tails, and ear tagging.
Maintain accurate production information and update all department records as required.
Treat sick animals with a variety of pharmaceuticals by injection, oral application, and/or other methods as required.
Ensure barn maintenance, office cleanliness, and laundry duties are complete.
Follow the Company’s animal care policies and procedures as well as hold others accountable, including: providing a physical environment that meets the animal’s needs, providing access to adequate water and high quality feed, providing humane treatment of the animals, providing identification and appropriate treatment of animals in need of health care and
following the guidelines for euthanasia.
Ensure compliance with all environmental laws and procedures.
Report all environmental issues immediately.
Ensure the team reads and understands the company’s emergency notification process and how it applies to their specific worksite.
Responsible for understanding all safety requirements of the job and for performing the job in compliance with the safety requirements.
Effective communication with teammates and supervisors in order to competently achieve goals.
All other duties as assigned necessary for the care of in the swine and/or the swine facility.
Previous documented exceptional results within the production system/industry or commensurate education in specified field.
Previous livestock handling helpful.
Ability to do hard physical labor.
Strong commitment to team work.
Willingness to shower daily in and out of facility
Ability and willingness to effectively manage 2+ full time employees.
Devote full time and attention to this role.
Weekend, evening, and holiday work required as needed.
Must be on call to work in emergency situations to include but not limited to, power outages or personnel shortages.
Ideally, candidates have experience working in a global role for a company in the agriculture sector.
